For already 6 years our family member, team rider and Analog Kid CLEM SHOVEL is throwing the annual  Bootleggers UltraCX race with his friends Alex and William. Call it Ultra CX, call it Monstercross, call it whatever... this one is Flanders / Belgium and it is hard, very hard: 260km, 2.700m of elevation makes it sound like any other Gravel-driven party at first, but it definitely is not. The CX orientated terrain lets you suffer with every pedal stroke, the starter’s field is strictly limited to 100 riders – still, there were years when not even 50 riders finished...

In the meantime, it must be known that this Bootlegger race is attracting only the strongest, most serious athletes, but at the same time attracting those with a strong sweet spot for the alternative and leftfield races. The annual Bootlegger Ultra CX race pools the cream on top of alternative racing riders – under the radar of bigger and possibly more present events out there. If this all sounds tempting, and if you want to take part in next year’s race you have to be quick once registration opens, as you might anticipate this one is sold out within minutes!
