Bikepacking the French Alps with Samer Abouhamad

A week bikepacking the French Alps with Samer Abouhamad: Briançon to the Gorges du Verdon, averaging 70-80km a day, camping most nights along the way. The route ran south from Briançon along Lac de Serre-Ponçon, past the Demoiselles Coiffées rock formations and the town of Seyne, through the limestone canyon of the Clue de Barles, and into Moustiers-Sainte-Marie at the edge of the Gorges du Verdon, finishing with a loop along the Route de Crête above the gorge. Six riders, four nationalities, ages 24 to 61.

He's going bigger next year: a ten-day crossing from Torino to Nice, late June 2027. Full route, what's included, and how to reserve a spot: 👉 Biketrip 2027 | Grit & Dust
