Meet Jona
Jona was born in the mid-eighties and grew up in the north-western part of Germany. As a learned carpenter he spontaneously quit his job in 2012 and started a 7-year long journey around the globe.
»Crossing continents, living off the bike and exploring remote regions of the world. That was the plan for 7 years.«
After starting to explore the world by foot (New Zealand, India, Nepal) and getting increasingly frustrated by the slower pace he switched to bike and continued to travel the area from Iran to Mangolia on two wheels. Following this, he moved to Canada for work and saved some money, then continued his cycling trip from Alaska down to Patagonia. His story was fascinating to follow and advices for inexperienced bikepacking are invaluable.
When returning home, Jona picked up his job as carpenter and began to attend some bikepacking races, with heading out to various touring trips nearby - as Jona avoids flying to his destination these days.
