“It’s a visually stunning area, with a certain stark beauty to such steep but achingly pretty hills. Picture postcard hilltop towns and villages adorn the steep hills, meaning we had to climb to almost every place we visited. The terrain is unforgiving, and the route weaves a path through the area’s history, skirting most of the big settlements while taking in some of the highlights and fantastic trails.” (Andy Cox)
