How is it racing a Cyclocross World Cup, and how is it possible to make it to the starting line of the world’s best Cyclocrosser at all? We accompanied Gosse to the UCI World Cup in Bern (CH) and tried to find out what it is all about.

The Dirty Boar is not a race (although time-measured and a result list is made), rather a social off-road / gravel ride of 170km with an elevation gain of 2.700m. In 2017, Marc Maurer flew to Dushanbe, Tajikistan, and cycled a meandering path to the northeast toward Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, riding dirt roads through vast swaths of both countries along the way.
