We are supporting “The Dirty Boar”, a very nice Gravelride next to our doors in the boardering region of Germany and Belgium on September, the 9th. A rough and quiet remote area which is not on the radar of many, but it offers an incredible beautiful landscape with breathtaking views, tiny old villages, no cars but some dirty boars on the way and: tons of premium Gravelroads! So if you are open for a weekend-trip to “Les Haute Fagnes” in Belgium with touching the German “Eifel” area: head over to www.dirtyboar.be and follow them on their channels. Some of our teamriders will attend too, and as it is not a race but a ride there will be some time to chat to the guys and share experiences. Ah, we will ride too and are already looking forward,.. see you there?
In 2012 the German couple Franzi and Jona (Tales On Tyres) quit their jobs and went for a global hiking tour starting in New Zealand before crossing to India and Nepal. Soon they got tired of walking, organised some bikes and continued on two wheels through Iran and Mongolia. After working in Canada for a year to replenish their funds, they started their current trip zig-zagging from Alaska to Patagonia. They completed “The Great Divide” (USA) and realised the bikes they were using couldn’t withstand the conditions they were encountering – and that’s how we came on board. We met up with Franzi and Jona in the Sierra Nevada in September last year and provided them 2 of our Beyond+ bikes. After getting them loaded up Franzi and Jona headed south, to take on the famous “Baja Divide” – an offroad bikepacking route down the length of the Baja Californian peninsula leading from San Diego (USA) to La Paz (Mexico). The full documentary produced by OSM films will premier at the Berliner Fahrradschau (http://berlinerfahrradschau.de/de/) on March, 3rd to 5th, see the pgraphic for the exact screening times. If you attend the Berlin bike convention feel free to spread the word & invite your friends. For those that are into beautiful photography: in addition to the screening an exhibition of photographer Franzi (and one half of Tales On Tyres) will take place on the spot.

The “Torino – Nice Rally” is not a race, it is rather food for your soul: an adventure with friends and a memorable experience. 700km on old military Cols and scenic historical trade routes leading all the way from the western Italian Alpes down to the coast of southern France. In 2016 our ambassador Joachim Rosenlund took part in the rally (on his HOOK EXT) and experienced some truly incredible unsupported bikepacking. The backdrop of Europe’s highest mountains never seas to take our breath away, but we couldn’t prepare ourselves for quite how spectacular his journey would be.
As an event in-between all Joachim’s annual long-distance competitions the “Torino – Nice Rally” seemed to be the perfect ‘recovery’ ride, without pressure, and ‘only’ 20,000m of elevation. The rally made such an impression on him that he’s already signed up for it again later this year….to see what exactly brought him back for a repeat visit check out the video, and if you’re tempted to ride it yourself be sure to say ”Hi” to him in Turin.
Road.cc just released a nice article about our bikes at “The Bike Place” (UK). Click the pic to read all about it!
… wanna ride along the biggest unsupported bikepacking adventure? It’s a great experience, and in our opinion real worth not only to sponsor that race, but also for spending the summer vacation with riding the Tuscany. The event takes place June, 2nd – head over to www.tuscanytrail.it – get registered and ride with us!
