SSCXEC 2015

We have been involved with the Singlespeed Cyclocross European Championships for a few years now, and it’s always an event we have fixed in our diaries. It’s not exactly a UCI event, but rather a competition for enthusiasts looking for some elbows out, shoulder to shoulder single speed racing. Taking place in the small village of Mons-en-Pévèle in northern France, close to the Belgian border, it’s a region synonymous with CX.

The competitors are as varied as the terrain on which they race, from sponsored pro’s to fixed gear bike messengers, but all our racing for the love rather than the glory. Our team rider Stefan “Fish” Vis took part on his ARISE, to see what the bike could do on a competitive stage. The bike and Fish share quiet a lot in common: both are like a Swiss Army Knife, tough, dependable and versatile. A perfect bike for an enthusiast like “Fish”, who is now able to convert this bike for whatever lies ahead.

Fish won the bronze medal, a great achievement given the competition and the hardware they were riding.
